How about some free standing furniture for your handmade kitchen? Dressers, sideboards and larder cupboards for instance are becoming rather fashionable, especially in older character properties. Stand alone pieces offer valuable additional storage and can be taken with you if you move.
This dresser was made for a beautiful barn conversion in Essex. It has a glass display in the top half and wicker baskets in the base but any cabinet arrangement is possible.

Solid Oak Worktops
Wooden counter tops look fabulous in any kitchen and give a wonderful rustic feel, which works just as well with contemporary designs. A mix of wood and granite is the perfect combination, with the wood softening the stone and adding warmth to the room.
Although some care is needed, wooden tops are not as high maintenance as you may think. Yes, they need to be oiled regularly and we recommend at least once a year, but with just a little attention, you can keep them looking brand new for years and any stains can be simply sanded out.
If you would like advise on how to look after your wooden worktops, just drop us a line at info@bakerandbaker.co.uk and we will mail you an information sheet.

Bold is beautiful
Be brave and add strong colours to your kitchen like this Island unit painted in Shaker Red.
Choose a lighter colour, such is taupe on the matching cabinets for a striking contrast.
